Boy Scout Troop 230 was chartered by The First Baptist Church of Penfield in 1959. It has a long history of serving the youth of Penfield. We are boy-led Troop advised and assisted by adult volunteers. We develop the leaders of tomorrow.
We meet Wednesday nights from 7:00 - 8:30 during the school year. Actvities include:
- Camping at our own 37 acre property near Canadice
- Weekend camping at Council owned properties: Babcock-Hovey, Cutler, and Massawepie
- Weekend camping trips to other points of interest in the surrounding area
- Week long summer camp at a scout camp
- Service projects in the community
The Boy Scouts of America is one of the nation's largest and most prominent values-based youth development organizations. The BSA provides a program for young people that builds character, trains them in the responsibilities of participating citizenship, and develops personal fitness.
For nearly a century, the BSA has helped build the future leaders of this country by combining educational activities and lifelong values with fun. The Boy Scouts of America believes — and, through nearly a century of experience, knows — that helping youth is a key to building a more conscientious, responsible, and productive society.
